Attwood and Sawyer 22ct Gold Plated Swarovski Crystal and Enamel Rigid Dragonfly Brooch

Attwood and Sawyer 22ct Gold Plated Swarovski Crystal and Enamel Rigid Dragonfly Brooch featuring a beautiful dragonfly with glossy navy blue and emerald green enamel wings, clear pave set Swarovski Crystals for his head and tail, round faceted ruby red crystals at the tips of his antennae, a single round faceted green crystal at the end of his tail and an oval blue glass cabochon for his thorax. He is signed A&S on his textured reverse and he has a rollover clasp. This is the medium rigid version, which is NOT articulated like the larger version, which has an articulated tail, there is also a smaller version. He measures 6.7cm tall and 7.6cm at his widest point and he weights 29.5g.  A striking and beautifully vivid brooch from the incredible Attwood and Sawyer team.

The dragonfly symbolises wisdom, change, transformation, light and adaptability in life. It shows up in people's lives to remind them that they need to bring a lightness and joy to their life. The dragonfly is also a symbol of the "realm of emotions" from joy and happiness to melancholy, sadness, anger, jealousy and all of the other emotions. It is also considered a symbol of transformation because of the way that it grows.

Attwood and Sawyer was founded in 1956 in Porthcawl, Wales by Mr Horace Attwood and Mr Sawyer. Many of the designs, now highly collectible, were inspired by historical references, including their most recognisable collection inspired by the jewellery collection of the Duchess of Windsor. Popular in the UK and Europe, they went on to produce the jewellery for the television series Dynasty.
