In 'Very Good' vintage condition, this brooch from Circa mid-1950's exhibits only minor signs of wear, including a couple of very small areas of loss to the imitation pearl coating on close inspection and minimal wear to the gilding on the back edges, typical for a piece of this age.  This wear adds to its authenticity and charm, making it a very well-preserved example of Chanel's bijoux fantaisie from the mid-1950s.  Similar designs from Goossens's early work with Chanel reflect the era's significant contribution to fashion history, as highlighted in exhibitions like the prestigious 'Gabrielle Chanel: Manifeste de Mode' at Palais Galliera, Paris.

This beautiful brooch has a rollover clasp and it is signed 'CHANEL' on a rectangular cartouche on the reverse. It measures 5.6cm high and 5.6cm wide and it is 2.7cm deep (excluding pin) and weighs 39.3g.
