1950s Turquoise Pâte de Verre and Faux Pearl Clip On Earrings In The Manner of Robert Goossens

1950s Bijoux Fantaisie French Atelier Turquoise Pâte de Verre and Faux Pearl Filigree Clip On Earrings in the manner of Robert Goossens.

This pair of unsigned omega back clip on earrings dates to the 1950s, possibly earlier, showcasing mid-century French bijoux fantaisie craftsmanship from a high atelier.  The gilt metal filigree frames form a symmetrical quatrefoil cross motif with scrolling acanthus leaves and a central elongated trefoil emblem, hand-hammered with slight asymmetries evoking Goossens' renaissance-inspired sculptural style.

Each earring features a spherical turquoise cabochon of pâte de verre with marbled, semi-translucent veining and golden threads.  Small faux pearls are set on raised cup platforms, secured with original epoxy (subtle traces visible inside, as common).  The backs show filigree four-petal motifs around spring loaded omega clips for firm hold - these omega backs do not lock into an open position, they are spring loaded.  There are no marks present, but these gorgeous earrings, echo the drama of Goossens' quatrefoil renaissance brooches for Chanel, with strikingly matching turquoise pate de verre and wonderful gilt warmth.  They measure 2.3cm high and 2.3 cm wide and they have a lovely weight of 13.8g.  Absolutely beautiful.
