Forget-me-nots, with their delicate blue petals and golden centres, have long symbolised true love, fidelity, and the poignant plea for remembrance, evoking bonds that endure beyond time or separation. Rooted in a medieval German legend, the flower gained its evocative name when a chivalrous knight, reaching for a cluster by the riverbank to gift his beloved, was swept away by the current - as he drowned, he hurled the blooms to shore with his final words, "Forget me not!", a timeless testament to sacrifice and undying affection. In Victorian floriography, they whisper of hope and connection, making them cherished in weddings, memorials, and jewellery that captures eternal devotion.
Fish Enterprises Ltd. was a UK company that produced cloisonne style enamel jewellery in the 1980's-1990's. Their jewellery is often times described as cloisonne but it was not created with wires applied to a base. It was created by stamping the designs and sections onto a solid base that was then filled with enamel so it is more correct to call it stamped champleve or stamped basse taille enamel depending on the piece. Or you can just call them enamelled.
They called their jewellery 'Fine Enamels' and sold it under several lines with packaging that read Fish Fine Enamels, Fine Enamels by Fish, Fine Enamels by Fish Enterprises or Fine Enamels by Crown Jewellery.
Fish Enterprises Ltd. used numerous marks on their jewellery pieces. They had an all word mark of ©FISH, also a mark that is commonly referred to as two fishes but it actually looks like three fishes swimming, and a fish inside of a crown mark.
