UNOAERRE 60cm Italian Silver Etched Necklace 1970s

UNOAERRE 60cm Italian Silver Necklace 1970s featuring an alternating plain and etched link by UNOAERRE measuring 60cm long and weighing 7.1g.  This necklace is signed 'UNOAERRE' as well as 'Star 1 AR' and '925' on the spring ring clasp.  A lovely 1970s silver necklace.

Established on March 15, 1926, in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy’s renowned goldsmithing hub, UNOAERRE was founded by Carlo Zucchi and Leopoldo Gori as Gori & Zucchi.  The company revolutionised jewellery production with industrial techniques, initially crafting religious medals and chains, earning the province’s first hallmark, "1AR," in 1935, which inspired its name, UNOAERRE (a phonetic nod to "Uno A Erre").  Post-World War II, the company innovated with lightweight hollow gold and silver designs in the 1950s–1960s, employing up to 1,500 workers during Italy’s economic boom.  The 1970s–1990s saw global expansion with subsidiaries in France and Japan, introducing 925 sterling silver collections with etched chains and gem accents.  Today, based in Arezzo with a museum showcasing its heritage, UNOAERRE leads in sustainable jewellery, using recycled metals, exporting to over 40 countries.
