Eisenberg Ice Austrian Crystal Rhodium Plated Brooch featuring claw set round and navette cut Austrian crystals as well as smaller vari size round Austrian crystals set in a single row along the swirling veins of this abstract design. A beautiful brooch with slight discolouration on the very tip of one of the stones and this is reflected in the price. It measures 7.4cm high and 5.1cm wide and it weighs 25.6g. It is signed on a cartouche on the reverse 'EISENBERG ICE ©' and it has a rollover clasp.

Originally a clothing company known for their rhinestone embellished garments in the 1930's, Eisenberg soon introduced jewellery alongside their clothing, eventually merging the lines, so that they were producing jewellery adorned garments with velvet-lined boxes for the jewellery at the point of sale. Agnini & Singer who had manufactured their buttons manufactured these early Eisenberg Original pot metal pieces, but these weren't signed. The increasing popularity led Eisenberg to work directly with Fallon & Kappell and by 1943 they worked exclusively together until 1972, although anecdotal evidence suggests that another factory was making jewellery for both Eisenberg (signed Eisenberg Ice) and Weiss through the 1950's and 1960's. It was during these war rationing years in the 1940's that Eisenberg Ice was first used as a slogan only and some pieces were made in silver and when rationing was lifted, they mostly used a rhodium plating. By 1958 Eisenberg ceased manufacturing clothing entirely concentrating its efforts solely on jewellery. The company was resurrected in the 1990's as 'Eisenberg Ice' and these highly collectible pieces such as Christmas Pins are equally collectible as the Eisenberg Originals.
