Vintage Miracle light green satin glass and Tudor rose detailed brooch from the 1950"s. Formed from a raised rectangular piece of light green satin glass set with a silver tone open work border with Tudor rose detailing. The brooch has a roll over pin roughly stamped MIRACLE on the reverse and is approximately 3.2cm by 2.7cm at the widest points. The silver tone metal has an aged patina and the satin glass has a chatoyancy effect.
Miracle jewellery is a collectable British UK Jewellery brand. The company was started in the late 1946 by A Hill and Company and was based in Birmingham. Taking inspiration from ancient jewellery finds, they became leading British designers of Celtic Jewellery, Sottish Jewellery and Irish Jewellery. They have also made some stunning Mackintosh, Renaissance, Egyptian, cameo and classical lines.
Making their own reproductions of semi precious stones from bohemian glass, they have produced many uniquely coloured, beautiful jewellery pieces over the years. Other companies associated with/bought by Miracle are Quarrier Ward & Ward Brothers, producers of Jewellery marked Mizpah and Sol D'or. In 2013 Miracle closed its Birmingham base, its ownership was taken over by St Justin and its now based in Cornwall.
