Butler and Wilson 1980's Champagne Brooch in Original Black Box

RARE Butler and Wilson 1980's Champagne Brooch featuring a crystal set champagne glass with a single baguette cut blue crystal as a highlighter and seven strands above the glass representing champagne bubbles. We believe this is an early piece, as it is does not have the usual baguette cut crystals in the stem - they are all single round crystals - we are unable to find one on the current market like this one. The brooch with a rollover clasp is 10cm High and 7cm at its widest point and weighs 16.9g. It has the round cartouche on the reverse, which is signed 'BUTLER & WILSON' and it is in its original black box with gold writing.

In the early 1970’s, two British Antique jewellers and designers, Nicky Butler and Simon Wilson started their own company, Butler & Wilson. Their jewellery was well made and utilized Austrian rhinestones and crystals all prong set and set into base gun metal, rhodium, polished gold plated or silver plated metals. The jewellery was very popular and was sought after because of its global flair. Princess Diana wore brooches by Butler & Wilson. The jewellery is marked “B & W” or Butler & Wilson. The partnership broke up in the 1990’s with Simon Wilson retaining the Butler and Wilson name. Since that time, Nicky Butler, under his own name, has designed and manufactured costume jewellery.
