Rare,Signed 1959 Christian Dior brooch, Crafted by Henkel & Grosse during Yves Saint Laurent’s tenure as Creative Director (1958–1960), is a masterpiece of mid-century haute couture. Rhodium plated for a radiant finish, it features an oval cabochon art glass centre with a speckled brown-white pattern, encircled by four further round art glass stones, smoky quartz crystals (teardrop and navette cuts), faux moonstone glass navettes, and lustrous faux pearls, all claw-set in a captivating starburst design. Measuring 4.2cm x 4.2cm and weighing 17.7g, it secures with a rollover clasp and bears the signature “Chr.Dior © 1959” on an oval plaque, affirming its authenticity. In pristine condition, with only two minute pearl coating losses on two pearls (one on each), this collector’s gem embodies Dior’s golden era under YSL’s visionary leadership. Pristine, with two very small pearl coating losses, otherwise perfect. A seriously beautiful piece.
