Silver Tigers Eye Pendant Brooch featuring a huge tigers eye cabachon in a silver setting measuring 4.4cm high (excluding bail) and 3cm at its widest point - this lovely brooch weighs 19.5g. It has a rollover clasp and a bail, which is stamped 'SILVER' so it can be worn as a brooch or a pendant.
There is what appears to be illegible writing on the reverse, from the original label. Tiger's Eye is a chatoyant gemstone, notable for its brilliant optical effect due to strains or layers of quartz running through the stone, which is why it has been quite tricky to get some images without reflections. It is the Birth Stone for the month of June and the Zodiac Stone for Gemini. Roman soldiers in particular believed in the powers of Tiger's Eye crystal because of its eye-like appearance. The eye represented an all-seeing, all-knowing power, which was highly sought after on the battlefield. Tiger's Eye crystal stone meaning was even believed by some cultures to ward off the Evil Eye.
