Pianegonda Italian Designer 18ct Yellow Gold and 925 Silver Chain Drop Heart Earrings

Pianegonda Italian Designer 18ct Yellow Gold and 925 Silver Chain Drop Heart Earrings featuring a long, fluid chain of interlocking open circular sterling silver links with elongated heart-shaped pendants in 18ct yellow gold.

At the top is a larger silver open ring boldly stamped “PIANEGONDA” twice on the fronts and they are fully hallmarked on the backs:

'925' in an oval

'2213 VI' in a lozenge with a star '2213' is the manufacturer/workshop registration number and 'VI' is the mark for Vicenza, Italy - this specific mark combined is the signature mark of the luxury Italian brand Pianegonda.

The hallmark includes a Quatrefoil mark, '925' in an oval, a shield in a cartouche with chamfered edges and the letter 'j'.

The earring chains taper downward and finish with a substantial, polished 18k yellow gold heart-shaped pendant.  Each gold heart is clearly stamped “PIANEGONDA” along the front edge and carries the '750' gold mark stamped in a lozenge on the backs.

The original butterfly backs are also stamped 'PIANEGONDA' '2213 IV' with a star and '925' in an oval.

These earrings beautifully combine cool sterling silver with luxurious 18k yellow gold accents. They are authentic, well made Italian designer pieces with excellent attention to detail and a nice weight of 8.6g.  They measure 5.5cm long, the hearts measure 2.2cm long and 1cm at their widest point.

Franco Pianegonda is an Italian jewellery designer and goldsmith from Vicenza, a city with a centuries-old tradition of fine metalwork.  In 1994, he founded the Pianegonda brand in Camisano Vicentino, quickly gaining recognition for his bold, sculptural designs in sterling silver, often combined with gold accents.  Pianegonda became celebrated for elevating 925 silver into contemporary, architectural statement pieces, blending modern creativity with exceptional Italian craftsmanship.
