Vintage Mexico Alpaca Crescent Moon Bib Necklace featuring a Mexican Alpaca Necklace comprising 6 crescent moons and 3 tear-shaped droppers all inlaid with beautiful shimmering abalone shell. This lovely necklace is signed on the reverse 'ALPACA MEXICO' referring to the Alpaca silver tone metal, sometimes called Nickel Silver or German Silver and is made up of 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc. It has a hook clasp and the necklace is made up of four curved lengths of alpaca. It measures approximately 40cm long and the bib is 5cm deep at the front and approximately 10cm wide and it weighs 28.7g. Most alpaca bib necklaces seem to be pieces of shell set into a coloured enamel, this necklace contains all shell.
